LittleBigPlanet (often abbreviated LBP) is a PlayStation exclusive game series created by Media Molecule, with titles on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. The series stars a character named Sackboy (or Sackgirl) and embarks on adventures through out Little Big Planet. Costumes of Iota and Atoi were available with a preorder of Tearaway. It is in some ways a "Spiritual Successor" to Tearaway.

Setting

The game takes place in a world called LittleBigPlanet (or sometimes called Craftworld). It shows the story of Sackboy (or Sackgirl) exploring the creations made by the "Creator Curators", and sometimes stops evil threats.

Story

The first LittleBigPlanet shows the very first adventures of Sackboy as he explores LittleBigPlanet and saving the inhabitants from the evil clutches of The Collector which later is revealed that he just wanted friends. The PSP version depicts Sackboy following the events of the first game decides to go on a vacation in which he is lost and needs to find his way to the Carnival of Creators. LBP 2 shows Sackboy helping a character by the name of Larry DaVinci to build a group called The Alliance in order to stop The Negativatron from terrorizing Craftworld in which they succeed. Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves shows Sackboy with his new "Move powers" to stop Big T-Rex. LBP PS Vita shows Sackboy uncovering the mysteries of a new planet call "The Carnivalia". LBP Karting shows Sackboy driving a threat known as "The Hoard" from Craftworld because they were stealing the creations.

Reception

The LittleBigPlanet games have received critical acclaim in almost all games. The first LBP received a 9.5 by IGN and currently holds a 95 on Metacritic. The PSP LBP has received positive reviews with a score of 9 from IGN and holds a 87 on Metacritic. LBP 2 received higher acclaim than LBP 1 it scored a 9 from IGN and holds a 92 on Metacritic. LittleBigPlanet's Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves received positive reviews IGN gave it a 6.5 and a 7 by Eurogamer. LittleBigPlanet PS Vita received critical acclaim it holds a 88 on Metacritic and earned many awards including "Best Mobile Game", "Game of the Year", and "PS Vita Game of the Year". LittleBigPlanet Karting was received with mostly positive reception, it scored a 4/5 by G4, and holds a 73 on Metacritic.
